I primarily work in painting and monotype from still life. For me, the interaction with my subject offers opportunities to forge connections between myself, the thing seen, and the response. Some of the works are painted straightaway while others are sustained over an extended period. My selection of colors, marks, and touch represent the character and dynamic of the subject as I feel it. Initially my tones create a framework which evolve into color that develops light and space. I hope to discover a hidden order, a rhythm, a surprise by selecting the appropriate elements that accords my work an alive, pictorial whole that is parallel to nature. In my specific response I try to realize the image and conclude a poetic order.
