Emma Clark

Yellow Green 2
$120
The influences upon her work are very eclectic. A place that she has been to, or an experience that she has had might be a starting point; equally a medieval reliquary or Indian carving, a pattern on a Victorian plate, something that someone has said to her or a feeling she wants to express.

Emma was born in Oxford in 1967 and now lives and works in South London. She trained initially in ceramics, but changed over to being a printmaker shortly after leaving college. Now that she lives in a bigger house she finds collecting other people’s ceramics and making her own prints by far the most satisfactory compromise. In 1992 she became a primary school teacher and whilst teaching was also the subject manager for art in her school. She recently gave up her full time job in order to be able to devote more time to printmaking.
