There are balloons and there are tight squeezes... and everything seems to rise upward like suspended candy hovering at the ceiling... This print has a sculpted feeling with pastel drawing lines and charoscuro. |
This monoprint has an underprinting of brilliant yellows and oranges, and then a printing of blacks with many cut throughs and wipeaways to reveal the warm color underneath. The dark little boat ripples and floats as the early morning light awakens it. | |

This print gives the feeling of open space behind the archway, and the purplish colors are the exotic feather motif, and the black staff is like a voodoo object |
This monoprint has been pressed with several impressions and also drawn into with dark charcoal lines. The little figures seem to move as they are spiraling in space. The snake is dancing to the inner music... There is a song of fun and play in the scribbles of the circular laugh lines... |

Geordie Holmes has been making monoprints layered over monoprints for more than ten years. Her works are organic and abstract; she is able to create a dreamscape of color poetics and a primal tableau, with a combination of strong colorblending and energetic brushwork, the prints contain symbols that are like shamanistic messages
Geordie is also a modern dancer having had a performing career with Louis Falco and Pilobolus Dance Theatre and has toured internationally. She has shown her monoprints in NYC, Santa Fe, NM. CapeCod MA. and Boston, MA. |
