After a twenty-eight year career in Special Education, Pat fulfilled a
lifelong ambition to attend art school. Coursework in drawing, painting,
illustration, and printmaking provided a foundation to begin her career as a
professional artist. In August, 1998, she began exhibiting at art shows. Six months later, she was the recipient of a purchase award at the Naples Invitational Art Fest in January, 1999. In March, 1999, one of her etchings was selected to be included in the Selected Artsplosure Visual Artists’ Exhibition in Raleigh, N.C. Pat uses traditional printmaking techniques of drypoint, monoprint, monotype, and relief to create images which reference ancient mythic themes and archetypes. It is of profound importance to her that her art communicate a sense of connection to the universal human and to those life forces which have always carried us forward.
