Carmine
Santaniello is a contemporary artist born and living in New York. A
graduate of Parsons School of Design in 1976, his work has been exhibited
through out New York, the US and Mexico where he lived previously.
Recent
local exhibits include: The Gallery at Chelsea Eye, Leslie Lohman
Virtual Art Gallery, BJ Spoke Gallery, The Catholic Museum of America,
Ward-Nasse Gallery, Discovery Art Gallery, Sea Cliff Gallery and the
Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning.
His
work appears in private and corporate collections in this country
and abroad, including the personal collection of Sophia Loren.

"My
recent monotypes have moved in a more organic direction than I had anticipated.
The filigree and texture I achieve in this medium imparts an air of
lightness - while an undertone, poised to erupt, is palpable just below
the surface. The richness of the colors as well as the kinetic nature
of an environment that seems to live in each new work, provides me with
the sense that I have created a universe beneath my feet."
